On Time (2016)
A busy young man is late for work but stops to help an old lady who reminds him of his own mother. Realizing it's been a while since he has seen or spoken to her, he decides to reconsider his priorities.
During my academic years in London, I had the chance to create and take part in several films. But to truly put everything I had learned to the test, I wanted to direct something free of supervision, with the sole purpose of seeing if I could actually handle it. This is my very first independently made short film with a budget, crew and actors. I definitely learned a lot from that experience.
I’ve seen films that were beautifully made but with no substance and films that were poorly made but with a great story. The lessons I’ve learned from this production will forever help me strike these two cords, as guiding and trusting the crew is paramount, which leaves you with the characters and the story, most importantly the actors and their performance.
Nothing really became of this film, just an attempt at creating something independently and to this day, it serves as a point of reference when it comes to the project that helped me grow the most as a filmmaker.
